New Moon

OMG!!!! November is just too far away.

Things I've noticed while watching this....(yeah, I've probably watched it too many times)
  • The Volvo is black
  • Carlisle is with the Volturi when Edward is explaining about them to Bella
  • Victoria jumping out of a tree behind Charlie
  • Edward's eyes aren't black when he says 'you can go to hell' (and what a great line that is)

Look what I found

I thought I had lost these.

I remembered picking up all my ticket stubs and moving them about 1-2 years ago. But where to? I couldn't recall. I was thinking that maybe I had tossed them. Then Sunday I was going through a box and found them along with quite a few other stubs.

Can you believe the price of these tickets?

He was an awesome performer.

Out of the 2 concerts, the 1987 one holds the most memories. I met a girlfriend and a friend of hers at Olympic Park. I travelled by train to Melbourne and was then staying at my friends place. I had an overnight bag with me. We had general admittance tickets. While waiting we made plans to meet at a landmark if we were to get split up during the concert - lucky we did. Rumors where going down the line that security would be doing bag and body searches. My friend had her camera and a tape recorder with her. They searched bags but no body searches. My friend had her tape recorder down the front of her pants. When we got through the gates of Olympic Park everyone ran to get as close to the stage as possible. I ran on ahead of my friend and then realised she wasn't with me. I turned and called out to her to run. She yelled back to me that she couldn't. Her tape recorder had slipped down the front of her pants and was in the crotch of her pants, so she couldn't run. She taped the concert. I still have that tape. We ended up being separated by the start of the concert. Those people that arrived late were trying to push their way to the front. By the end of the night, I was 2 people off the barrier. Very, very, very close to the stage.

Very random thoughts

Oh, this is so random.

You know how your mind wanders don't!'s just me........I see........I don't believe you.........well, anyway.......

While I was driving like a Melbournite (because that's the only way to drive in Melbourne) to the Pink concert on Tuesday night (which was very good) my mind wandered (not the best thing to do whilst driving in Melbourne traffic, I made a couple of wrong turns) to the Twilight books and the term 'driving like a Cullen'. My mind then wandered onto the 'what if's'. What if the books were based in Australia? What would they eat? We don't have bears and mountain lions. And if they ate a koala how would it affect them? Would they get sleepy because of the eucalyptus in the koala's blood? Or maybe they'd just be really dopey for a while, like they were stoned or drunk.

Oh, and something else that's very random. When I look at blogs and I see the 'followers' gadget on the side, a tune fills my head. What tune you are asking? Are you sure you want this tune wedgie for the rest of the day? Well, you asked for it.......
"Follow me,
everything is alright,
I'll be the one to tuck you in at night,
and if you follow me,
I can guarantee,
you won't find nobody else like me."

Looking for sketches???

A friend of mine is now including sketches as part of her blog. Sketches are a great way to find inspiration for a scrapbooking page or card. Later on she will be adding tips and tricks to stretching your supplies.

It's been so long

It's been a while since I updated my blog. Let me think, what's happened since I last posted (back in February)......

We've had 2 terms of school and the kids are currently on school holidays again.

The rabbits managed to have another litter of kittens the day before black Saturday. They have been separated since. I was able to find homes for 3 of the 4 and we have kept the fourth rabbit named Gutso. As he is male, Night Rider has started fighting with him. Might have to find a home for Gutso as it is getting hard to keep these two separated.

I've been reading The Mortal Instruments trilogy - City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass. I'm about 1/2 way through the second book. They should be a quick read, but I keep distracting myself with other things.

I'm making some Twilight goodies for a couple of friends for when we meet up later on in the year for New Moon.

I've been knitting the past couple of weeks. Found some lovely flurry wool at Spotlight the other day and decided to knit a scarf in it. Going through my wool stash I found some more feather wool and Amber decided that she wanted a scarf knitted out of it. I'm currently knitting a scarf for Bryce out of some wool I picked up at Lincraft, a verigated blue/green which I'm knitting in a fishermans rib. I'm really liking the look of it and keep telling Bryce that I might keep it.

School's Back

I probably sound awful. I have had enough of the fighting, arguing, yelling and sooking. I'm enjoying the peace that comes from them not being here. I'm presuming the fighting, arguing, yelling and sooking all comes from being bored because I didn't hear any of it after school yesterday.

Now to get my house back into something more presentable.

The Host

The past few days I've been reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Finished it about 1.30 this morning. I've read the Twilight Saga which is written by Stephenie also. Took me a little bit to get into it (but so did Twilight). I enjoyed the story. It's about an alien race (souls) being inserted into human bodies (hosts). The souls retain all the hosts memories. Won't give too much away in case someone wants to read it. Talk about cry, at times I couldn't read the words on the pages for the tears in my eyes, tears running down my face. Keep a box of tissues handy.

Melbourne's in a heatwave. We haven't had consecutive days over 40C in 100 years apparently. Tennis players have pulled out of the Australian Open this week. Train tracks are buckling in the heat. The power went out at our place for about an hour. Melbourne suburbs have had no power as well. In my neck of the woods it got to 45.5C today. Yesterday it was 41.1C. Tomorrow we're expecting 43C. The air conditioner has been on all day, at times it felt like it wasn't working. I'd then go outside for a few minutes and come back in to feel the cooler air. Going to be a hot night tonight.

Yeah, I've got it. Read all the books, twice. Onto my third read now. I've seen the movie 3 times at 3 different cinemas. I have the Soundtrack and the Score. And because I could, I have put the music from both cds into the order they appear in the movie. I have the Movie Companion. Even scrapped about it. I've even made myself a Twilight bracelet, which is a work in progress. Mmmm, can you say OCD. And if you have Twilightitis you know exactly what that means.

Teachers Christmas Gifts

Thought I would post a couple of pictures of the Christmas presents I made for the kids teachers.
The back has the same papers and includes the teachers names.
I wasn't around when the teachers opened their presents, so I'm not sure what they thought.

Hear that? Bzzzzzzzzzz. That's the mozzie that was in my bedroom last night. Bzzzzzzzzzzzz. How can something so small be so annoying. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Thought for sure I'd wake up this morning with bites. Bzzzzzzzzzzzz. Luckily I didn't. Bzzzzzzzzzzz. Mozzies are the one thing I hate about summer. Bzzzzzzzzzzzz.

They bread like rabbits

We had a couple of new additions to our family last year in the shape of 2 rabbits - one for Amber and one for Bryce. Of course Amber wanted a girl and Bryce wanted a boy. Jamie purchased them from the pet shop a couple of weeks apart, both girls not wanting any baby bunnies and the fighting that males do. Amber’s is a light brown with some white lop eared rabbit that she called 'Stella Bella'. Bryce’s is a black with a couple of brown patches lop eared rabbit that he called 'Night Rider'. As it turns out, Night Rider is a boy..........

The above extract was what I put in my Christmas newsletter.

Let's cut to the present. But a little bit of back story first.

Stella Bella took to digging holes under the fence everywhere and I spent weeks stopping her from doing it. Finally she dug a hole under the cubby house. Jamie said to leave it as they aren't digging anywhere else. I suppose there's some logic in that. Both rabbits where in and out of that hole on a regular basis, now digging under the fence.

Then we notice Stella Bella filling her mouth up with grass and taking it into the hole. Looks like she's nesting. The rabbits are locked up at night, I didn't think that if she'd had babies that they would survive.

New Year's day, Jamie comes inside and tells the kids to have a look in the back yard at the little grey things running around. Two baby bunnies. Yeah, cute. The kids think it's great. They see 3 rabbits, I've only seen 2.

A couple of days ago the neighbour over the back tells the kids the bunnies are in his yard. So I hatched a plan to catch them. I'd noticed that around 5.00 they would come out from under the cubby to eat and they would wander to other parts of the garden. I got a calico bag and taped the opening to the cubby house and then covered the bottom with bits of bark. I then chased the rabbits one at a time into the bag, got them out of the bag and put them in the hutch. Easy.

Apparently there's still a baby bunny on the loose in the neighbours yard. Can't do much about that until it's back on our side of the fence.

Stella Bella had been looking very pregnant again the last few days. This morning both rabbits disappeared under the cubby when I let them out. It rained for most of the morning, when I finally saw them again, both of them were wet and muddy. I think she's had more babies. She doesn't look as fat and Night Rider has other thoughts on his mind. If you get my drift. So I've separated them. I need to find accommodation for them both. At the moment, it's one is in the hutch the other is out.

But there is a flaw in this. There is still this hole under the cubby that they disappear into and I can't get them out of.
